What you need to understand

At an uncontrolled intersection, drivers arriving at approximately the same time use the right-side rule. At every intersection, a green light or priority rule still requires the driver to avoid blocking the intersection or causing a collision.

Key points to remember

  • The driver on the left normally yields to the driver on the right.
  • Enter only when there is room to clear.

Exam-day strategy

Right-of-way determines yielding order; it does not remove the duty to prevent a collision.

Read every word, especially qualifiers such as must, only, before, and NOT. Eliminate choices that contradict the official rule, then select the safest complete answer.
